Free antivirus that participated were: Avast, AVG, Avira, Panda and MSE (Microsoft). Test this time av-comparatives using a sample of malware (viruses, worms, trojans, and the like) as much as 206,043 a widely circulated within one month earlier. Here are some of the results of these tests:
The percentage number of samples that were not detected

The number of error detection by antivirus

Scan Speed

From the graph above, which I bought the red arrow is a free antivirus. For free antivirus, total detection summarized as follows:
  • Avira with 99.5%
  • Panda Cloud with 99.3%
  • Avast with 97.3%
  • AVG with 95.7%
  • Microsoft with 92.3%

In terms of the number of detected Avira Free Edition   seemed more than other free antivirus, but in terms of scan speed, Avast! Free Antivirus far exceeds any other free antivirus, avast even the most rapidly than any antivirus that participated in this test including paid. Then for the problem of fault detection, Microsoft Security Essential at least compared to other free antivirus and AVG the most error detection.
For those who want to use a free antivirus, of the five products tested, it seems the best choice between Avira or Avast. Although pandas including top rankings, but Panda using technology, so that every moment must be online to get the best results. In terms of ability, Avira did look slightly superior, but in terms of features included, I see that Avast is still superior. So the decision to use which remained in the hands of individual users.
For the total antiviral, as before G-Data is still ranked top for the detection capability, with a total of 99.7%, followed by Trustport by 99.6% and then the third is Qihoo with Avira and 99.5% respectively.
